a little progress

in case you care at all, i have another interview on monday morning, this time with a small/medium privately-held financial data firm in s.f. it looks interesting. i'll know more when i know more. still waiting to hear about other offers.

christie and i are getting ready for friday's wedding of her cousin matt and his fiance mari(e?). the question of what to wear after three weeks of jeans and t-shirts is surprisingly difficult. i will probably default to the one suit in my wardrobe. for christie, we'll have some unpacking to do.

jim will be in town on monday and tuesday, taking us to two cubs games those evenings. i'm looking forward to that. i hear that wrigley field has veggie dogs these days. if you are in the market, morningstar veggie dogs (in the frozen section) are clearly superior to smartdogs. while you're there, morningstar corn dogs are equally awesome.

Nate....... A lot of people care -- including 2 at our house.

However, your wandering odyssey & retro-1960's lifestyle could lead one to wonder: "Where you are going?" and "What you are going to do -- if you get there?" That's not saying that there was anything wrong with that lifestyle in the 1960's. But this is another century!

As "Uncle Doug" said: "Hope your job search comes to fruition real soon." I'll second that!!

PS --- Don't blame the hairstylist for being too timid to take "more hair off the top and sides." Whoever pays the hairstylist/barber makes those decisions. Get my point??

You even have some non-family lurkers (hey, Christie has friends too :P~~~). Good luck with the job search and have fun at the wedding.

As for Morningstar Farms...I think my favorite is the spicy black bean burger. Mmm, tasty.

john, my reponse is: i am here, and i do what i please.

jen, aka jennifer, aka angelachase: i'm not sure who you are, but it's great to have you here. christie is busy dying her very short hair right now, or she'd reply to you herself. i'll get a picture of it up later today.

Hi Nate,
I have been reading you blog on occasion and find it interesting that you use the term "if anyone cares". I remember our daughters using that when they were real young as a tool to feel sorry for them. I hope that is not where you are coming from. The obvious is that people do care but at the same time one has to be responsible for themselves and you and Christie are now at that point. I am not aware of what has lead to this odyssey of becoming the "wandering minstrel" but hope that you can become gainfully employed so you can help contribute to our retirement and Social Security.

Hi Nate: We have been following your trip since we learned of your blog page. And, having watched our two sons grow, educate, job search, court, marry and ,you know the rest, we are very interested in your job search; and praying that the right things will come along , and the right decisions will be made. We are
especially interested in you doings in Illinois. If you are still in the area when we get home (about Oct 4) we will have to try and connect.
